Toy Design is a field that is extremely close to our hearts. A fair share of ones childhood is spent in exploring and playing.It was our deepest desire to create well designed toys for children that entertains, educates and also enriches their lives. Thus was born our brainchild, Maniams Toys. Each Maniams Toys is made by integrating different skills of the artisans of India and each piece is unique. The natural imperfections are recognized as being part of the natural wood. It is beautiful and makes the material even more valuable.

What makes Maniams Toys unique

Design

Each of the toys we design undergoes several stages: research, usability study, design, production and finally, testing. Our toys are suitable for every child including specially abled children. Our toys are a comfortable fit for the Montessori & Waldorf system of education as well. Schooling these days prioritizes the development of the left hemisphere of the brain which is associated with logic, analytical reasoning etc. The right hemisphere of the brain which is associated with creativity is drastically overlooked. Our toys provide the much needed help in developing the creative side of your child and will help them become a well rounded individual. Furthermore, our toys are inspired by Indian elements and culture.

Materials

The toys at Maniams have been designed using High Quality material such as Solid Pine Wood, Rubber Wood, Shesham, Non Toxic Paints and Non Toxic-Environmental Friendly printing methodology.

Packaging

The packaging we use for our products are woven bamboo baskets and containers that are made by local artisans. This is a small initiative from our side to help these artisans make a livelihood and also to consciously be environment friendly. We look forward to playing a small role in the growth of your child. About Paheli

Paheli is a 2-4 player family game, India’s culture is among the world’s oldest cultures; about 4,500 years ago. India is a very diverse country, with different regions have their own distinct cultures. Indian culture has a rich heritage of signs and symbols. These symbols have deep meaning and have been part of our heritage over the ages. This game helps one understand these symbols such as, Why we wear a bindi? Why we worship tulasi? Why do women wear bangles? Why do we break a coconut? Why do we place betel leaves in festivals? With Nuclei families, most parents themselves aren’t aware of our rich heritage and meanings. This game would help families understand our culture and significance in a fun manner. It will also help tourists, NRIs living abroad understand Indian culture. It can bring both grand children and grand parents together. This game would delve interest and curiosity in children to ask questions and develop creative thinking. So that the future generation of India are well aware of our wonderful culture.

The game board is divided into pathways rather than having a big game board, to facilitate that every time one plays a new layout of the game board is formed. The theme of the game is based on the Ramayan, an epic that narrates the story of Rama, the seventh avatar of the Hindu God Vishnu. Sita has been kidnapped by Ravana! Your task is to find and rescue her. But in order to do that you must first find Rama, Lakshmana and Hanuman before Ravana reveals his ten heads! Else, your rescue mission will be a failure. The first one to reach Sita wins!

In order to find all these characters players need to answer riddles related to Indian Culture, Festivals, Symbols, Gods & Goddesses.

About Rangolio

Rangolio is a Design patented product. The puzzles have been inspired from Rangoli patterns which is very unique to Indian culture. The shapes have been designed in such a way that 500 + patterns can be created.

The puzzle helps children in Logical thinking & creative thinking. Joining the pieces help in developing sense of precision as well as fine motor skills required for finger development. These puzzles help in strengthening eye hand coordination and enhance dexterity, since one needs to place these puzzles in precision to create the pattern. Also patterns have negative and positive element which enhances visual perception of the eyes. The product is designed in lines with Waldorf & Montessori education methodology. Two types are available natural finish which is designed using 3 types of different wood and Coloured version. There are totally wooden pieces with 30 pattern cards which is categorized based on difficulty levels.!

About Krazy Kolam

Krazy Kolam is a Design Patented Product. The puzzles have been inspired from Kolam patterns which is very unique to Indian culture. Kolam helps develop meditative power. It is an art form that needs focus and concentration. The puzzle helps children in Logical thinking, Creative thinking, Colour Interpretation. Joining the pieces help in developing sense of precision. Hence this would help ADHD/Autism children. The product consists of wooden pattern pieces. There are 30 pattern cards with 3 difficulty levels. The product
is available in Coloured and Natural wood finish. The product is designed in lines with Waldorf & Montessori education methodology.

About Trikona

The puzzles have been inspired from Jalli Patterns of India which is very unique to Indian culture. The shapes have been designed in such a way that endless number of patterns can be created. The game is a dexterity game of stacking, collecting the right shapes and completing the patterns before the structure collapses. This game helps children in Logical thinking & creative thinking. Joining the pieces help in developing sense of precision as well as fine motor skills required for finger development. The game help in strengthening eye hand coordination and enhance dexterity, since one needs to pick the shapes in precision to create ones pattern. Also patterns negative and positive element has been created to enhance Visual Perception of the eyes.
